Here a Chick, There a Chick

I finally got a new camera (yay!) and couldn't wait to try it out. Over the weekend, my niece was critter sitting for her neighbors and among the animals she was looking after were some baby chicks.

They looked so cute, even though many still didn't have all of their feathers. But, the smell, oh the smell... it took me back to my early childhood, of going to the barn and getting the eggs from the chickens... *shudder*

Next time I want to see a baby chick, I'll just look at my photos instead.

Friday Photo Flashback:Snow Fun 2004

Place: Central Park, New York City
Temperature: Record Cold!!

For our son's 9th birthday, we surprised both of the kids with a trip to New York City. We didn't tell them where we were going and they remained clueless until we boarded the plane and the pilot announced our destination.

We were only there a couple of days but we had so much fun! It was the kid's first time seeing snow! We went to: a Broadway showing of Beauty and the Beast; the Toy R Us in Times Square; the American Museum of Natural History; the Empire State Building; FAO Schwartz; Macy's and rode the Subway numerous times.
(There was more, but those are the key things.)

Now that the kids are older, we would love to go back... but it would have to be when the temperatures are a little warmer!
