The Parent Bloggers Network has posed these questions, "What makes a gift memorable for you? Whether it was good or bad, whether you were a child or an adult, whether you were the giver or the receiver - which gifts have stood out in your mind and why?"
For some it may be a different kind of gift, like those from Excitations - a website that allows you to give "gifts" such as a flight in a World War II-era aircraft or a trip to junior rodeo school.
But for me, the most memorable gifts have been the handmade kind. These are more special to me because they have been made out of love, for me. When I was little, my grandmother would sew me a doll or stuffed animal. To some, they may not seem like much, but I always loved them! Last year my mother gave me a crocheted blanket (see photo). As soon as the weather begins to cool, I place it on the bed for extra warmth!
So what are some of your most memorable gifts and why?
Psst... Hey You!

I'm the same Sis, the homemade ones! Probably as a teen I didn't appreciate handmade items, but now that am older, I've come to cherish them!
yep, I'm the same way.
My Grannie makes me fudge for my birthday. It doesn't get any better than that!
My mom made a quilt for my oldest daughter. My reaction? Where's mine???? I love that stuff!
Anything my kids make. I keep everything they make for me. I can't help it. I would like to learn how to knit. I think that would be cool.
I agree handmade gifts are the best, somehow they show that someone sat and thought about you and just you for some period of time to make that one gift. That doesn't happen very often and is a wonderful feeling when it does.
I'm not sure I can think of one gift. To be honest I haven't had a gift in a while not even my birthday this year, oddly enough.
