With Earth Day around the corner, rising fuel costs and a want to be more environmentally friendly, I decided to begin my own meme. My Green Dream "list" gets added to all the time, but if I could be granted three green wishes, they would be:
(1) A Hydrogen fueled car. Norway has the HyNor, "A unique Norwegian joint industry initiative to demonstrate real life implementation of hydrogen energy infrastructure along a route of 580 kilometers from Oslo to Stavanger during the years 2005 to 2008. The project comprises all steps required to develop a hydrogen infrastructure and includes various hydrogen production technologies and uses of hydrogen, in all cases with an adaptation to local conditions."
(2) A Solar Powered Water Heater. I live in the sunshine state for goodness sake, solar powered systems should be the norm and not the exception. "A solar water heater model can reduce water heating costs by 50 to 80 percent every year. And over the 20-year lifespan of the equipment, more than 50 tons of carbon dioxide emissions will be displaced."
(3) An end to Junk Mail and Unrequested Catalogs. There is a website called GreenDimes that aims to remove you from common junk mail lists. They also perform catalog screening & removal as well as monthly monitoring. Their Basic plan is free, Premium plan is $20 and the Bundle plan is $36.

Neat idea! I posted mine today.
I'd love affordable solar roofing. Right now it is uber expensive. Would be such a great way to generate energy for the home.
